The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is Announced by Daedalic Entertainment

Developer Daedalic Entertainment will develop the Lord of the Rings: Gollum, a story-driven LOTR experience that comes in 2021. With the original trilogy of movies from Peter Jackson, The Hobbit Trilogy and an upcoming TV series on their way from Amazon, The Ring's franchise has continued to occupy a prominent place in the pop culture world. However, developer Daedalic Entertainment wants to bring a new game adaptation from a new perspective in the form of the Lord of the Rings: Gollum.

Hollywood Reporter detailed that a new video game based on J.R.R. Tolkien's fantasy series is official in the works of Daedalic Entertainment, with the new title The Rings Lord: Gollum. The game is currently being developed on PC and aimed at a release in 2021, while the game also comes to "all relevant console platforms at that time".

According to the report, the Lord of the Rings: Gollum will take place before the events of the Lord of the Rings, but over time Gollum came into possession of the titular One Ring. While details on the game itself are still vague, Daedalic's details show that the game will be a narrative driven adventure game.

While Gollum looks like it's still a bit off, this will not be the only ringing Lord of the Rings on the way from Daedalic, when The Hollywood Reporter also detailed that Daedalic has several titles based on the franchise on its way into a partnership with Middle- Earth Enterprises, which indicates that there are many more stories to tell (in video game form) based on the massively popular franchise.
